The Renewal Of The Kindergarten in 2022

In 2022, Urakawa Friend Kindergarten will become Urakawa Friend Forest Kindergarten. A new building, using natural materials, is being constructed which connects to the surrounding nature. We aim to develop an adaptable place where our children, the diverse learners, can explore and carry out a variety of activities. The free floor plan design encourages children of all ages to learn and play freely at a place they wish to do so.

Forest schools in Germany and other European countries are receiving a lot of positive attention and it is also here in Hokkaido!

The concept of the new kindergarten is to create a forest with our children. Our originality and work styles are not restricted by rules. This environment is purposely created so everyone can work in a rewarding way.
